Privacy
Privacy Policy
Effective date: October 1, 2026 · Updated October 28, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how The Dressing Room, a trade name of Emerge LLC (“we,” “us”), collects, uses, shares and protects information when you use our website, app and styling service (the “Service”) and shop The Collection. By using the Service you agree to this Policy.
1. Information we collect
Information you give us
- Account details: your name, email and password, or sign-in details if you use a third-party login.
- Style profile: answers you choose to share in the style quiz, such as your birthday, height, weight, skin tone, hair and eye coloring, body shape, style preferences and the activities you dress for. Most questions are optional.
- Fitted photo (optional): a photo of yourself in fitted clothing, if you choose to add one. See Section 3.
- Closet content: photos of your clothing, shoes, bags and accessories, plus the tags we generate (such as color, fabric and category) and anything you add yourself.
- Calendar information (optional): if you connect a calendar, the titles, times, locations and dress-code details of events you choose to share.
- Orders and payments: shipping and billing address, order history and gift card activity. Card details are collected and stored by our payment processor, not by us.
- Ambassador program: your social handles, platform, code and link, and the payout and tax details we need to pay you.
- Messages: support requests, feedback and survey responses.
Information collected automatically
- Device and usage data: IP address, browser and device type, pages and features used, and approximate location.
- Location for weather: we use the ZIP code in your profile, or a city or ZIP code you enter for a trip, to look up the forecast or typical weather for your looks. We do not track your precise location.
- Cookies and browser storage: we use what's needed to keep you signed in and remember your preferences. On our public pages (the homepage, the waitlist thank-you page and this page) we also use the Meta Pixel, an advertising tool from Meta Platforms. It records that a visit happened and when someone joins the waitlist, along with device and browser details, so we can measure and improve our ads on Facebook and Instagram. It is not used inside the member app, so your closet, photos and style profile are never sent to Meta. You can opt out at any time under Your privacy choices.
Information from others
- Referral information if you arrive through an ambassador link or code, and information from our payment, shipping and sign-in providers.
2. How we use information
- To provide the Service: build your closet, plan outfits, factor in weather, events and your profile, and show looks and packing lists.
- To process memberships, orders, refunds and shipping, and to prevent fraud.
- To personalize and improve the Service, including testing and improving how looks are generated.
- To communicate with you about your account, purchases and policy changes, and (with your consent where required) offers and style news. You can unsubscribe at any time.
- To run the ambassador program, including tracking sales and paying commissions.
- To comply with the law and enforce our Terms.
3. Your photos, profile and automated styling
Outfit recommendations are created with automated systems, including AI models. To do this, your closet photos, fitted photo, profile answers and (if connected) calendar details may be processed by service providers that run those models for us.
- Those providers may process your content only to provide the Service to us, under contract, and are not permitted to use it to train their own models.
- We do not sell your photos or style profile.
- We do not use any photo for facial recognition or to identify you.
- Your fitted photo is optional and stored privately. Only you can see it. Our stylist reads it to note your proportions (for example, shoulder and hip balance) to suggest flattering silhouettes. It is never used to judge or record size, and you can replace or remove it at any time in your profile.
- We do not use your content to train our own models unless you opt in.
- In your closet, please upload photos of your own belongings. Do not upload photos of other people, and never of children.
- You can delete any closet item or photo in the app at any time. To delete your whole account, email us (see Section 6). We delete the underlying files as described in Section 7.
4. Calendar access
Connecting a calendar is optional. We request read-only access, use only the events you share, and use them only to plan your looks and reminders. You can disconnect at any time in the app or in your calendar provider's settings, and we will stop reading new events. If you connect Google Calendar, our use of information received from Google APIs follows the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.
5. How we share information
We share information only as described here:
- Service providers that help us operate the Service: Supabase (accounts, database and photo storage), Cloudflare (website hosting), Anthropic (AI styling), the National Weather Service and NOAA (weather, which receive only a location and never your personal details), Google (email), and, when they launch, our payment processor and our printing and shipping partners for The Collection.
- Advertising: Meta Platforms receives the device, browser and page-visit information collected by the Meta Pixel on our public pages, and uses it under its own privacy policy. Under some state laws this may be considered "sharing" for targeted advertising; you can opt out under Your privacy choices.
- Ambassadors: when you buy through an ambassador's link or code, we tell that ambassador that a sale happened and its value. We never share your name, closet, profile or contact information.
- Legal and safety: when required by law, to respond to valid legal requests, or to protect rights, safety and security.
- Business transfers: if we merge, are acquired or sell assets, your information may transfer, subject to this Policy.
- At your direction: for example, when you share a look.
We do not sell personal information.
6. Your choices and rights
You can see, correct and delete much of your information in the app: edit your answers by retaking the style quiz in your Profile, remove closet items with “Remove,” and remove your fitted photo in your Profile. To delete your whole account, email [email protected] from the email you sign in with. Depending on where you live (for example California, Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut and other US states, or the UK and EEA), you may also have the right to:
- know what personal information we hold and receive a copy;
- correct or delete it;
- opt out of targeted advertising, sale or certain profiling;
- withdraw consent where we rely on it, such as for sensitive information or calendar access;
- appeal a decision on your request.
Your privacy choices
To opt out of the Meta Pixel and advertising measurement on this website, use the button below. We save your choice in this browser, so repeat it on each browser or device you use. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we treat it as an opt-out automatically.
To make a request, email [email protected]. We may need to verify your identity, and we will respond within the time required by law. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights. You may also use an authorized agent where the law allows.
Some profile details, such as body shape, coloring or your fitted photo, may be considered sensitive in some places. We collect them only if you choose to provide them, and use them only to style you.
7. Retention
We keep information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the Service. When you delete a closet item or photo, it is removed right away. When you ask us to delete your account, we delete your profile, photos and looks within 30 days, except where we must keep records for legal, tax, fraud-prevention or dispute purposes (for example, order and payment records). Backups are overwritten on a regular schedule.
8. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical and physical safeguards, including encryption in transit and private, access-controlled photo storage. No system is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. Please use a strong, unique password.
9. Age requirement
The Service is for people 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has given us information, email [email protected] and we will delete it.
10. International users
We are based in the United States and process information here. If you use the Service from outside the US, your information will be transferred to and processed in the US.
11. Changes and contact
We may update this Policy. We will post the new effective date and, for material changes, notify you by email or in the app.
Terms
Terms of Service
Effective date: October 1, 2026 · Updated November 2, 2026
These Terms govern your use of the website, app and services of The Dressing Room, a trade name of Emerge LLC (the “Service”). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. Eligibility and accounts
You must be at least 18 and able to form a binding contract. You are responsible for your account, for keeping your login secure, and for all activity under it. Give us accurate information and tell us promptly about any unauthorized use.
2. The Service
The Dressing Room helps you plan outfits from clothing you own, using your closet, profile, the weather and (optionally) your calendar. Our plans are The Rail (free), and The Suite and The Private Suite (paid). We also sell products through The Collection. Features, limits and prices may change over time.
Styling suggestions are creative guidance created by automated systems. We do not guarantee fit, suitability, the accuracy of weather forecasts or typical-weather estimates, or our reading of a dress code, or that a suggestion suits every occasion. Please check the weather, safety and event requirements yourself. Items suggested to “complete the look” are optional, and we show them only if you opt in. We may earn revenue or commissions on products we recommend.
3. Your content
You keep ownership of the photos and information you upload (“Your Content”). You give us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, process, reproduce and display Your Content only to operate, secure and provide the Service to you (including processing by our service providers). You confirm that you have the right to upload it, that your closet photos do not include other people's images without their consent, and that nothing you upload shows anyone under 18. We never use Your Content in public marketing without your separate permission.
4. Acceptable use
Do not: break the law; upload unlawful, harmful, explicit or infringing content; scrape or copy the Service; reverse engineer it or probe its security; interfere with its operation; share your account; use it to harass or impersonate anyone; or use automated means to access it except as we allow.
5. Memberships, free trials and billing
- Free trial: paid plans start with a seven-day free trial for new members, one trial per person. Unless you cancel before the trial ends, your payment method will be charged the plan price when the trial ends.
- Pricing: The Suite is $9.99 per month or $89 per year. The Private Suite is $19.99 per month or $179 per year. Applicable taxes are added. Prices may change with at least 30 days' notice before your next renewal.
- Automatic renewal: paid memberships renew automatically at the end of each billing period (monthly or yearly) until you cancel, and we will charge your payment method each time. We send a reminder before yearly renewals where the law requires.
- Cancellation: cancel anytime in the app under Profile → Membership once paid plans launch, or by emailing [email protected]. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, and you keep access until then. Cancelling does not delete your account unless you also delete it.
- Changing plans: upgrades take effect right away, with a prorated credit for the unused part of your current plan. Downgrades take effect at your next renewal. If you move to The Rail, you keep everything you've added, but you can't add new pieces while you're over its 40-piece limit, and categories The Rail doesn't include (such as shoes, purses, ties, scarves and jewelry) stay in your closet but aren't used in your looks.
- App store billing: if you subscribe through an app store, that store's billing and refund rules also apply.
- Refunds: see our Refund Policy.
6. Purchases from The Collection and gift cards
Products are made to order in small runs. Prices, availability and descriptions may change and may contain errors, and we may cancel and refund an order affected by an error. Orders are subject to our Shipping Policy and Refund Policy. Gift cards can be used only toward the Service and The Collection, do not expire unless the law allows, cannot be redeemed for cash except where required, and cannot be replaced if lost or stolen.
7. Ambassador program
Anyone 18 or older can apply to be an ambassador. We review every application and may approve or decline it at our discretion.
- Membership: approved ambassadors receive The Private Suite free for as long as they are an ambassador.
- Their own discount: ambassadors get 20% off The Collection with a personal code. It is for their own orders only and may not be shared or posted.
- Link and code for followers: each ambassador gets a personal link (thedressingroom.org/a/name) and code. Followers who use them get 15% off memberships and 15% off all of The Collection. The membership discount applies once paid memberships are available.
- Commission: ambassadors earn 15% of each membership payment and Collection order made with their link or code, before taxes and shipping. Commissions for each month are paid on the 15th of the following month. Refunded or cancelled orders earn no commission, and a commission already paid on an order that is later refunded may be deducted from the next payment. We may ask for tax information (such as a Form W-9) before paying.
- Rules: ambassadors can't use their own follower code on their own orders, place orders to earn commission on themselves, or bid on our brand name in paid search ads. Ambassadors must clearly disclose their relationship with us in every post (for example, with #ad, #TDRambassador or the platform's paid-partnership tool) and follow applicable advertising rules, including the FTC's Endorsement Guides.
- Ending: an ambassador may leave at any time by emailing us. We may change or end the program, or end an ambassadorship for inactivity, misuse of codes, fraud or conduct that harms the brand. When an ambassadorship ends, the link and code stop working, the membership returns to The Rail unless the member subscribes, and earned commissions on qualifying orders made before the end date are still paid.
8. Intellectual property
The Service, including its software, design, text, graphics, the name “The Dressing Room” and The Collection designs, is owned by us or our licensors and protected by law. We give you a limited, revocable, non-transferable license to use the Service for personal, non-commercial purposes. If you send us feedback, we may use it without obligation to you.
9. Third-party services
The Service may link to or depend on third-party services, such as calendar providers, payment processors, weather services and retailers. We do not control them and are not responsible for their content or practices.
10. Disclaimers
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available.” To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement, and we do not promise the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free.
11. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits or data. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim or $100. Some places do not allow these limits, so they may not apply to you.
12. Indemnity
You will defend and indemnify us against claims arising from Your Content, your misuse of the Service or your breach of these Terms, to the extent the law allows.
13. Termination
You may stop using the Service and ask us to delete your account at any time by emailing [email protected]. We may suspend or end your access if you breach these Terms, create risk or legal exposure for us, or if we discontinue the Service. Sections that by their nature should survive will survive.
14. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Before filing a claim, please email [email protected] so we can try to resolve it informally. The state and federal courts serving Newport News, Virginia have exclusive jurisdiction.
15. Changes and contact
We may update these Terms. We will post the new effective date and, for material changes, notify you. Continued use after changes means you accept them.
Refunds
Refund Policy
Effective date: October 1, 2026
We want you to love your experience. This policy covers memberships, products from The Collection and gift cards.
1. Memberships
- Free trial: cancel any time during the seven days and you won't be charged.
- Monthly plans: cancel at any time and keep access through the end of the paid month. We do not refund partial months. If you're charged for a renewal and contact us within 7 days without having used the plan since, we will refund it.
- Yearly plans: contact us within 14 days of your first yearly charge or a yearly renewal for a full refund. After that, you keep access through the end of the paid year, and we do not refund unused months.
- Billing errors: if we charge you by mistake or twice, we will correct it and refund the difference.
- App store purchases: refunds for memberships bought through Apple or Google are handled by that store under its own rules.
- Where the law gives you broader cancellation or refund rights, those rights apply.
To cancel or request a refund, go to Profile → Membership in the app once paid plans launch, or email [email protected] from the email on your account.
2. The Collection (made-to-order products)
Because each item is printed, embroidered or sewn when you order it, returns work as follows:
- Changing or cancelling an order: you can change or cancel within 24 hours of placing it, or before production begins, whichever comes first. Email [email protected] right away. Once production starts, the order can't be cancelled.
- Damaged, defective or incorrect items: tell us within 14 days of delivery at [email protected], with your order number and a photo. We will replace or refund the item, including the original shipping, whichever you prefer, and cover return shipping if we ask for the item back.
- Personalized or monogrammed items: final sale unless defective or incorrect.
- Fit and preference: because each piece is made to order, we don't accept returns for size or style preference. Please check the size guide and product details before ordering. We do offer a one-time size exchange per item if you contact us within 14 days of delivery and the item is unworn, unwashed and has its tags.
- Lost packages: see our Shipping Policy.
3. Gift cards
Gift cards are non-refundable and can't be redeemed for cash except where the law requires. Please treat them like cash: we can't replace a lost or stolen card unless you can show us the purchase.
4. How refunds are issued
Approved refunds go back to your original payment method within 5 to 10 business days, depending on your bank. If you paid with a gift card or store credit, we refund to the same.
5. Ambassador codes and discounts
If an order made with an ambassador link or code is refunded, no commission is paid on it, or the commission is reversed if already paid. Discounts and free trials have no cash value.
6. Questions
Email [email protected] and we'll reply within 2 business days.
Shipping
Shipping Policy
Effective date: October 1, 2026
This policy applies to physical products from The Collection. Memberships and gift cards are digital and don't ship.
1. Where we ship
We currently ship to addresses in all 50 US states, including Alaska and Hawaii, and to APO/FPO military addresses. We don't ship internationally yet, and we'll announce it here if that changes.
2. Made to order and processing time
Every piece is printed and sewn when you order it. Orders ship within 3 to 7 business days after you place them. Business days are Monday through Friday, excluding holidays. Busy seasons and new product launches may add time, and we'll let you know if your order will be delayed.
3. Shipping rates and delivery estimates
| Method | Estimated delivery after shipping | Cost |
|---|---|---|
| Standard | 3 to 5 business days | Shown at checkout |
| Expedited | 1 to 3 business days | Shown at checkout |
Shipping costs are calculated at checkout based on your items and address. Delivery estimates are not guarantees: carrier delays, weather and other events outside our control can affect delivery.
4. Order tracking
When your order ships, we'll email tracking information to the address on your order.
5. Address accuracy
Please double-check your shipping address. We can't change an address after production begins, and we're not responsible for packages delivered to an incorrect address you provided. If a package is returned to us, we'll contact you to reship it at your cost or refund the order minus the original shipping and any return fees. Some carriers can't deliver to P.O. boxes.
6. Taxes
Sales tax is calculated at checkout where required, based on the shipping address.
7. Orders with several items
Items in one order may ship separately and arrive on different days, because pieces are made individually. You're charged shipping once per order unless checkout says otherwise.
8. Lost, delayed or damaged packages
- Lost or delayed: if tracking shows no movement for 7 business days, or your order hasn't arrived 10 business days after the estimated delivery date, email [email protected]. We'll work with the carrier and reship or refund your order.
- Damaged in transit: email us within 14 days of delivery with your order number and photos of the damage and packaging. We'll replace or refund it under our Refund Policy.
- Marked delivered but not received: please check with neighbors and the carrier first, then contact us within 14 days.
9. Questions
Email [email protected] with your order number and we'll reply within 2 business days.
